Every year the Government of Canada publishes "Key Small Business Statistics". The 2023 is released and Section 3.1 discusses the high-growth businesses. The section is actually quite short and to the point. The latest research on high growth was done in 2017. Here are some of the key points:
"they contributed to 41% of the total net employment change between 2009 and 2012".
"they are found across all industrial sectors".
"the share of high-growth firms based on revenue is slightly more than double the share based on employment (5.5% versus 2.6%)".
